Check out Grimes’ new video for ‘Go’ that was originally written for Rihanna.  This is definitely the type of song that would make me feel a breeze especially with that hook.  Featuring Blood Diamonds, the video was co-directed by Grimes + her brother Mac under the production alias Roco-Prime, + was inspired by ‘Dante’s Inferno’

Grimes shared this statement with pitchfork about the video:

‘It’s our take on Dante’s inferno. The circles of hell reflect more contemporary issues though.  We shot a bunch at the salton sea which is basically an apocalyptic wasteland filled with dead fish because of human carelessness, the bullet hole hallway a la korn freak on a leash etc etc.   If you look closely you can find clues.  Haha, but in the usual fashion it is also abstract enough to just be a trippy visual accompaniment to the song.’

I love the Mad Max/Game Of Thrones aspect of it, with the ‘knight’ + the big sword in the desert while later, playing in a black lit tunnel showing Grimes + other characters dancing + contorting their bodies.  Now, wouldn’t you agree how the beats during the lit tunnel scenes pair so beautifully with the tender side of the song?

Enjoy!
