Form, Pattern & Texture Play Well Together In The Marni RTW Spring 2013 Collection

Designer Consuelo Castiglioni  demonstrated calculated restraint with hints of whimsy for the Marni RTW Spring 2013 collection.  You can never expect to be disappointed by Marni and for Spring, you’re urged to play ‘dress-up’ with an array of silhouettes, textures and a few patterns to choose from.

Marni’s RTW Spring 2013 collection included, structured shorts softened with rounded hems, sometimes worn under peplum tops, long tunics over A-line skirts and a few dresses.  The textures varied from an almost metallic black jacquard to leather and as far as pattern was concerned, Consuelo blessed us with graphic statements including a slight transparent windowpane plaid and a punchy floral pattern reminiscent of the 70’s

The designer’s show notes read ‘Sparseness As Elegance’ in reference to the simplicity of the lines and the abundance of solids throughout her collection – And who could argue with that!?
