When designers Carol Lim + Humberto Leon sought inspiration from elements of their youth for Opening Ceremony‘s Spring 2014 collection – NY street looks peppered with traditional Korean garments for Carol + the drag racing subculture for Humberto – the end result was full of cool ease with excitement, punches of color + interesting shapes.  The collection included Neoprene + leather tees, paired with a crinkled leather mini accented with moto details or a patterned pencil skirt with zippered side slit detail, on both sides + interesting anoraks, folded under in front, similar to a ceremonial wedding garment (row 3, pic 3).  Pants were also present in the form of oversize “baji” pants (resembling shorts over pants) in contrasting block prints, paired with cross-front crepe tops in black, red + blue (row 3, pic 1).
