Maison Margiela delivered a bunch of my favorites for its Pre-Fall collection. A longtime fan of animal prints, there were a lot of different items of clothing + accessories to appeal to my fantasy spirit animal, the leopard. There was the gorgeous rabbit fur coat with python-stamped trim (below) + an oversized clutch. Of course, why have patterns alone to stir things up, when you can throw in a mixture of textures.
There were sheer details mixed with shiny overlaid details, which could easily pass for electrical tape, including a sheer black midi skirt paired with a belted tweed jacket. But nowhere was this most evident than in the tweed bias-cut dress, that screamed ‘John Galliano’, with a knotted drop-shoulder detail on the right, + a strap on the left, wrapped in the same shiny black material. The model is even sporting a bit of tape behind her right hand, as if wearing the newest + cheapest DIY bracelet around.
As for the color palette, it ranged from golden yellow + reds to oranges + blacks + blues, to occasional all-taupe looks.
