KENZO’s Fall collection is sure to delight.I mean really, when you have Opening Ceremony‘s Humberto Leon + Carol Lim’s in charge of the label’s creative vision, was there ever any doubt? As these pics can attest, Kenzo‘s Pre-Fall 2012 collection, is a play on texture, shape, silhouettes + of course, prints – but it’s how they do it that makes me go crazy.
Take this Kenzo look (below) for instance – at plain sight, one might dismiss it as a simple monochromatic look comprised of a top with a slight blouson effect + trousers. Yet, upon closer inspection, the only words that you can utter are,”IT’S ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS”. The Kenzo top/sweater for one looks like a nubby stuffed animal that was sacrificed to create this relaxed, cozy little number, balanced with flat front trousers in the same brick red tone. But what really kills me here, are those damn color block gloves (cognac with brick red) + purse-perfection!
To shine bright like a mustard yellow star, you have a utility jumpsuit perfect for both day or night. With a thin brown belt, the jumpsuit is given vintage appeal as brown is not a likely choice for evening. And rather than do a tapered leg down to the ankles, the pants are cropped with a slim cut. perfectly showing a hint of skin, while giving the cognac leather wedge ankle boot center stage.
