To introduce their new Little Red + Black capsule collection, Dean + Dan Caten of DSquared2, created this fashion film, inspired by old Hollywood iconic + notorious sirens. The Hollywood sirens include Anna Magnani, Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Betty Grable, Elizabeth Taylor, Fay Wray, Ginger Rogers, Grace Kelly, Joan Collins and Lina Romay.
Now, one would ask themselves why would the twins take that route having recently worked with Beyoncé on a DSquared2 custom outfit (design still a secret) for her ‘The Mrs. Carter Show’ world tour? As told to Vogue Italia, DSquared2 replied, ‘These women were not only legendary for their talent, wisdom + strength but they were also innovators in fashion. The collection is the epitome of chic, + it captures the essence + attraction of the Fifties while combining it with the untamed spirit of DSquared2 while also offering collectible pieces to the brand’s loyal followers around the world.’
With brooches, opera length gloves, square mini clutches + shoes, featuring an exclusive + versatile design in crêpe sablé + stretch wool cady, each of the looks could comfortably be worn in either old Hollywood or present day. What i love about the collection, is the versatility of each piece, already being classic + timeless silhouettes.
The launch of their Little Red + Black capsule collection, is launched in conjunction with the pre-fall 2013-14 DSquared2 collection.
