A white button down long sleeve shirt is a timeless staple in anyone’s wardrobe but it’s always interesting to see different iterations of this classic. Here are my top ten favorite RTW Spring 2015 white shirts, full of plenty of interesting details.
Rebecca Minkoff chose sheer fabric with a dotted pattern, while the cuffs, collar + shoulders were decorated with different detail. Hood By Air‘s white button down was deconstructed + replaced with just a hint of a collar + voluminous sleeves cinched at the cuff, attached to slightly dropped shoulders.

Paul + Joe‘s approach was a classic one, again in a sheer fabric with horizontal patterned cutout rows with a Peter Pan collar. Paul Smith was also partial to a sheer shirt but with more modesty, having the collar, center + cuffs in solid shirt material.

Ports 1961 pulled parts from a tuxedo shirt, like the satin pleated rectangle over the right breast, while adding an apron detail from the bottom right, which met with more pleats on the lower left that complimented the ones above them. Paco Rabanne‘s version was a crisp white shirt with an off-center button placket, followed by a ruffled right hem + a slightly elasticized belt accent.

Emanuel Ungaro favored a sheer shirt with a pattern that looked like white splashed paint, with a solid button placket, cuffs, collar + shirt yoke while Veronique Branquinho used shine + sheer appeal, with a right shouldered ruffle detail.

For Akris, the shirt was slightly sheer, with a mandarin collar + solid geometric shapes on the front. Kenzo‘s white shirt had cuffed long sleeves coming out of wide short sleeves, in a sheer pattern of open letters that spelled KENZO.
