But A Lot Of Adorable Charm And A Girls’ Education
Now, ‘How?’, do you ask, well, thanks to the amazing non-profit organization called She’s The First, which sponsors girls’ education in developing countries so they can be the FIRST in their families to graduate, with every purchase of this Tie-Dye Cupcake Necklace ($20),
75% of the proceeds is donated back to make this happen.
Founded by Tammy Tibbetts when she was only 23, just a few short years ago, while working full-time as an online editor at Hearst Digital, the concept came to her when angered by the fact that girls in other parts of the world did not have the luxury or awareness of education granting them the chance to become the FIRST woman presidents of their countries, the FIRST doctors of their villages, or even the FIRST in their families to graduate – and that’s how Tammy came up with the name, She’s The First.
The Tie-Dye Necklace was inspired by their Annual National Tie-Dye Cupcake Bake-off, (this year taking place onNovember 12-18) a friendly national bake-off, proudly supported by jane. cosmetics, amongst varying schools and campus chapters across the US to market and host a Tie-Dye cupcake bakesale in their area so that they can learn leadership skills and help to sponsor a girl’s education. Since inception, the organization has raised over $240,000 through fundraisers like this one.
Handmade by Ash Tree Creations, with teal and magenta clay, sprinkled with Swarovski crystals on a 16” silver chain, this necklace will make a perfect gift for yourself or even a stocking stuffer with the holidays right around the corner. But don’t forget, for every purchase you make, will also make a difference in a young girl’s life forever.
