Gucci Pre-Fall 2013 Has Us Purring For Green

Love for the Seventies + rock n’roll aside, creative director Frida Giannini decided to take a detour towards the Fifties with silhouettes worthy of Tippi Hedren in Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’ and even Angelina Jolie in ‘The Tourist’.  She further intensified her silhouettes with a color palette of teals and intense olive-forest greens (all-time color combo fave of mine yet, instead of teal, I opt for aqua/turquoise blue) occasionally anchored by leopard prints.  In describing the woman who’s envisioned wearing this collection, Frida told WWD:

‘This is a contemporary femme fatale who relishes her own dark mood.  Armed with an invulnerable aesthetic, she has an elusive sensuality-like the protagonist in a game of pursuit.’

Below you have a teal stretch flannel dress, tight enough to divulge a figure but not so much to be considered vulgar, sweetened by an off-the-shoulder neckline.   Then there’s the oversized green coat with teal cigarette pants that beautifully set the stage for this looks’ accessories of leopard bag and gloves.  The third look playfully flirts with image

proportion with a pencil skirt adorned by a fluttery front layer in green, a boxy leopard jacket with 3/4 sleeves and tight black leather opera gloves.

Love this combo at left, of a tight striped top in teal, burgundy, white + taupe with a bold olive green full skirt, finished off by pointy T-strap leopard print heels.   And those long, leopard gloves, where can I get a pair quick?
