Joan Smalls: Woman of Steel on Nowness.com

As a lover of superheroes, fantasy, sci-fi + all things nerdy, I can’t wait to see ‘Man Of Steel’, the summer blockbuster due out tomorrow.  That being said, here’s director Barnaby Roper’s short film featuring Latina supermodel Joan Smalls.  Playing on the notion that with summer come blockbusters, Roper used his signature technical genius, to turn Joan into her very own superhero.

Smalls transforms in high fashion featuring designers that include Balmain, Rodarte + Altuzarra, with the help of Stylist Keegan Singh.  Then each final look is punctuated with jewels by Eddie Borgo.
