For #FlashbackFriday, get lost in ‘Spherikal’ by Ion Lucin, which explores the extensive graphical possibilities of a sphere’s form. In this short animation, all done in 3D, Lucin was more interested in the graphical interest by flattening the surfaces, + the use of only two colors, as that’s all you really need to get the point across. The only challenge Ion mentioned was trying to achieve the transitions between the different types of the sphere’s representation – the morphing + metamorphosing. It’s a shame a different track wasn’t chosen for the piece, otherwise, it’s pretty cool.
Enjoy!
