Pre-Fall or not, Rachel Comey stayed true to her ‘seasonless dressing’ by incorporating various textures, patterns, shapes + textiles into her collection. There was a mohair woven long coat, a white shearling sleeveless jacket with black detailing while a black oil slick long dress with hints of a light nude illustration, made for an interesting evening look. Patterns came in the form of an abstract paint pattern added to cropped pants, complete with piping, while magenta with black flowers creeped up from the ankle to the knee on the front of relaxed light blue pants.
There were shapes that played mostly with volume + silhouette, like a long black + white tunic over white cropped pants + a kimono style belted jacket in sweatshirt material, over white wide leg pants with a frayed hem. The geometric bags throughout the collection were a great accent to the looks.
As for textiles, Comey’s love affair with denim came in many forms including a wide leg frayed hem jeans + a wide leg jumpsuit peeking out from a pink mohair coat, while linen + cotton popped throughout the collection.
