These days, glamour is no longer restricted to evening the same way casual looks can be glamourous. For Lanvin’s Resort 2014 collection, this notion translated into looks that could identify with today’s multitasking modern woman. Some collections usually just ponder a night out or an unexpected rendezvous but in Lanvin resort’s case, it is all intertwined.

In the collection, there was a white full-skirted dress, in Neoprene, a sporty material whose rebirth has it doing more than riding waves, in a glamourous cut. Designer Alber Elbaz ‘pushed’ the material further by making it textured to look like piqué. A throwback to the Fifties, there was a red strapless dress structured with lines that run down + around the figure. But my favorite looks have to be the gold lamé brocade tee dress, embroidered with copper + gold sequins + a draped shift in stretch lamé accessorized with sneakers.
Alber Elbaz told WWD about Lanvin resort, ‘It’s not just about design. It’s about lifestyle, and fitting the needs around the day,” which he perfectly accomplished with this collection.
