I simply love both French jewelry designer Yaz Bukey + Japanese makeup brand Shu Uemura + in finding out the two are collaborating on a special capsule collection, I gasped. Not only do I love Bukey’s designs, drowning in pop culture goodness but Shu Uemura’s products are just amazing.
The 34 collection, set to drop in May, will range from cleansing oils to makeup. According to WWD, Shu Uemura’s international artistic director Kakuyasu Uchiide also created four beauty looks with Bukey, whose Yazbukey line includes Plexiglas earrings shaped like lipsticks, a necklace of dangling cabaret legs + brooches resembling an open mouth.
In a phone interview from Istanbul, Bukey’s birthplace, the self-described makeup addict said, ‘For me, makeup is the same as accessories: You can change your personality + show different sides of yourself: That’s why I like makeup. I always have red lipstick on,’ as shown in the picture above. In fact, her red lip open mouth motif happens to be her most popular design yet, making a makeup collaboration only natural + long overdue.
The products including “blur” skin smoothers + false eyelashes unfortunately are to be unveiled first in Tokyo in March but don’t forget to be on the lookout come May for their U.S. release.
