Well Come October, Your Wish Will Come True – Sort of!
Besides her jewelry line for HSN, her cosmetics collab with MAC Cosmetics and a doc film in the works with Albert Maysles of ‘Grey Gardens’, Iris doesn’t know the meaning of slowing down. At 90, come October, she will be presenting her full out bag collection unlike the bags she’s collaborated on.
Inspired by her eclectic wardrobe, her collection of exotic handbags, featuring Mongolian lamb, hair calf and snakeskin, will retail for between $228 and $398.
Named the ‘Extinctions’ collections, there will be 12 styles to choose from in five colors. The red number above is one of Apfel’s favorites. And don’t you worry ladies, if you’re afraid there bags will be tiny, think again, just look at Iris eyeglasses – where else would she fit them? Of her relentless creativity, Iris told WWD, “I’m used to living on the edge of a volcano. I love what I do. My life is my work. I have a lot of creative juices — I like to use them up or it chokes me.” PREACH Momma!
