If You’re A Sucker For Packaging, You’re Going To Love AnestasiA Vodka

image

They had me at the packaging!

American made + organic-based AnestasiA Vodka, is sure to gain a lot of fans with such beautiful packaging + refined taste.  With the box (above) + bottle (below) designed by genius designer Karim Rashid, out of recycled materials, what’s not to love?!

Created out of faceted glass panels, a signature of Karim’s work, as shown in this drawing below,

the design lends itself to giving the bottle both a futuristic look while mimicking staccato movement.

A sexy bottle indeed, the AnestasiA Vodka bottle might just well be another liquor bottle to be kept out of recycling for it’s beauty, similar to Dan Akroyd’s Crystal Head Vodka bottle (below).

image

Yet, it doesn’t come as a surprise as both the Crystal Head + AnestasiA Vodka bottles were manufactured by the famous Bruni Glass in Italy.

Great Bag Made With More Than Tongue & Cheek

                                      image

What about teeth?

Designed by London’s own, Larissa Hadjio, the ‘Teeth Shoulder Bag’ is made of a black body + white teeth in snake skin, with gold hardware.  Conveniently, the snake skin strap is detachable, allowing the wearer to hold on to their teeth a lot closer, wearing the bag as a clutch.  Now some might argue, it’s a bit too kooky or comical, but structurally, it looks like a sculpture, worthy of any look, casual or not.

One thing I must say though, is how quickly I realized those teeth, made me think of COMME des GARÇONS + it’s many bulbous forms, like this AW/10 white look below.  Adore!

Study For Inner Improvement – Where Paint + Photography Collide

What would you say if you found a black + white photo of a surprised yet daunted woman, with several strokes of Yves Klein blue coming out of her mouth, maiming part of her face?  ’Was it a mistake?’, you ask; ‘What was this woman trying to say through paint or what was she trying to hide?’

image

For Portugese artist Helena Almeida, in her 1977 ‘Study For Inner Improvement’, she uses herself as the subject of reinvention by erasing what you see before you, then pushing it aside, to reveal a new self, but is it?
