Favorite Resort 2016 Shoes – Part One
WANTED: Reebok Gradient Leather By Melody Ehsani
Here’s yet another winning collaboration between Reebok + designer Melody Ehsani, but this time, giving the Classic leather a slithering new look with an all-over black snakeskin pattern, that even covers its brick rubber outsole. Melody’s ‘Reebok Gradient Leather’ shoe becomes a punctuated graphic statement by laying the black python pattern over a pastel gradient colorway of bright azul blue, turquoise, vivid teal, lilac + pale shades of pink.
Of course, as with most of Melody’s work, there’s an inspirational message of ‘Just Be Yourself’ embroidered along the toe cap as seen below.
And besides coming with 2 different lace colors of black + print, they also come with these removable signature lace locks that can double as jewelry which I simply adore!
But you must act soon, as they’re a LIMITED release, with no chances of being restocked. With very few shoes left in various sizes, you’ll be lucky to still find a pair in your size!
‘Reebok Gradient Classic Leather’ By Melody Ehsan is available online here.
Givenchy’s Resort Collection Plays With Peplum Looks + Animal Prints
Besides Givenchy’s Resort palette being dominated by green, one of my favorite colors, designer Riccardo Tisci also made sure to astound with surprising details on sexy silhouettes. There were plenty of peplum skirted looks with wide cutouts on the side of the knees. One of these looks really stood out from the rest, as it was paired with an athletic inspired baseball jacket of sorts, with oversized cape sleeves hinting at its hot pink inner lining.
As for texture, there were lace looks as well as denim. Take this look above, with the denim shirt above + its multicolored snap buttons paired with high waisted jeans, denim blue booties, then topped off with a jacket in a green leopard print lifted from Robert Mapplethorpe photographs. Speaking of prints, python also made its way into the collection in the form of booties, purses + an amazing tailored blazer (below), highlighting one of Tisci’s many talents.
The tailoring continued on with several pant suits + a white corseted top with off the should draped sleeves, paired with loose fitting trousers, almost making the model look like a marble roman column.
At times, Tisci’s tailoring managed to take a break, like with this white skirt above – notice the skirt’s unfinished hem.
For evening, most of the dresses left very little to the imagination, like the look above. Not only is this dress extremely fitted, like most in this category, it also bears a plunging neckline + a very high front slit.
Regarding accessories, the one most interesting standout was the block kitten metal stiletto heel hybrid shoe, seen below, which came in several colorways including beige with pink, dark olive with mint + black + white.

Killer New Video + Remix of Kim Ann Foxman’s ‘Creature’
https://youtube.com/watch?v=532uyA_um-Mframeborder%3D0allowfullscreen
Love this new remix + video by former Hercules + Love Affair singer Kim Ann Foxman for ‘Creature (a/jus/ted Remix)’. ‘Creature’, a track that appeared back in 2010, gets new life breathed into it with a new five-track EP including four new remixes, with one by Foxman herself.
The remix heard here by a/jus/ted, aka producers Teddy Stuart + Justin Strauss, perfectly compliments the flow of meticulous dance moves, heightened by mirroring effects. Then you have intermittent bouts of 90’s looking animations, tying everything together in this great black + white video directed by Jonathan Turner.
Be sure to check out Foxman’s ep set to drop June 15 on her own label, Firehouse.
Enjoy!
