To head start your plunge into one of Spring’s handbag trends, why not start with designing your very own cinched bucket bag with the help of Wink & Winn?  Starting with a template of the bag above, you drag the leathers, lining + hardware selection to the dots, until the panel changes color.

Prepare to gag with FKA Twigs performing ‘Hide’, slow + sexy, inside the ruins of a Mayan village in Tullum, Mexico after stepping away from Young Turks NYE party.  Part of a series of video presentations with artists involved in the event by Yours Truly + Dazed Digital, this minimalist version of ‘Hide’ just intoxicates with the resonance of FKA Twigs’ voice, slowly moving like a belly dancer, with that sudden touch of robotic precision.

I love her white + cream lace look with hints of gold, complete with red lips.

Enjoy!

If you’re too embarrassed to admit how much you love playing with Legos or think their colors will clash way too much with your decor when you spill them on your floor, here’s Google Chrome to the rescue with ‘Build With Chrome’.  ’Build With Chrome’ will allow you to build with Legos using the Chrome browser.

Announced yesterday by Google Chrome, Google said on its blog, “We think the creative freedom of Lego bricks shouldn’t be limited to plastic bins.”  With an unlimited number of 10 different colored bricks in 14 sizes plus a couple of special pieces like doors + windows, the possibilities are endless.  Cooler even is how users can view their works from different angles + zoom in or out.  And if you’re afraid no one will get to see your masterpiece(s), don’t worry, you’ll be able to share your creation(s) on Google+.  You’ll also be able to explore other designs by location on a special version of Google Maps.

With ‘The Lego Movie‘ set to drop Feb. 7, ‘Build With Chrome’ could not have launched at a better time.  Be sure to check out some characters from the film featured in the tutorials.

Nicely played Google!

Google Uncovers Eyewear Frames For Glass STILL Not Pleasing To The Eye

image

Today, Google uncovered new eyewear frames for Glass including titanium optical frames, with round, square + nearly rimless versions + nonscrip sunglass styles in black, gray, white, turquoise + tangerine.  Yet, you would think, that in it being Google, style would not be compromised for functionality AGAIN, but you can judge for yourself.

With all the amazing industrial + eyewear designers out there, this is the best Google could come up with?  I mean, look at them – they look like a pair of glasses or sunnies, with a bluetooth contraption attached to one side – Way too cumbersome, don’t you think?  But I guess business is business + Google needed to get something out there, to cash in on this unique concept, which was probably better articulated by some random, under the radar sci-fi flick.  Just the same though, I do believe Google will eventually get it right before somebody else beats them to it.

As if a pairing of Steven Klein + Kate Moss could ever deliver disappointing results, here’s Alexander McQueen’s SS/14 campaign film which is, in a word, hypnotic.

It’s a miracle Kate’s never starred in a McQueen ad before, but what a start + @ thirty ten too.  In the beginning, where Kate is staring at a storefront full of tvs, Edward Hopper’s famous ‘Nighthawks’ painting came to mind.  Yet, the overall tone of the film is mysterious + ominous, punctuated by Kate’s amazing McQueen look, complete with bright yellow-orange cropped hair.

I wonder if that doll version of Kate will be available anytime soon?

Here’s fashion film ‘Merry-Go-Round’ featuring Pleasemachine‘s Camerimage High Heels.

Designer Anna Zaboeva designed these boots for herself to attend the Camerimage film festival.  With a strong commitment to recycling, Anna uses vintage silks with various prints, combined with genuine leathers.  By adding a deep slit down the front, lengthens the appearance of the leg while showing a hint of skin.

I love how the metallic piece on the boots slightly bear a resemblance to shoe spats.
