Look at how designer Leonard Wong reinterprets the structure of the nail through his collection in the fashion film above.  Full of pieces that look as if they’re comprised of more than one part, Wong’s work is true art.

Directed by Daichi Yasuda, Wong’s collection is said to be a genuine embodiment of the nail, the simplest yet most effective design that binds structures together.  Besides, who doesn’t love structure that looks this good?

Enjoy!

For #FlashbackFriday + in honor of Halloween, let’s jump in, head first, into the delicious decadence of music video ‘Evening In Space’, that only director David LaChapelle can master.  Of course, when it’s starring the inimitable Daphne Guiness, singing her first single off her debut album, produced by Tony Visconti, the experience becomes that much more + thensome.

As usual, Daphne kills it with every blink + hand gesture, wearing a lot of her own clothes, by some of her favorite designers including Iris Van Herpern.  I wish I had that many costume changes to party tonight?!

Happy Halloween + enjoy!

Who doesn’t love denim right?  Well in Fashion Catch film ‘Old School’, with the infectious Everyday’ (Coolin’)’ by Swizz Beatz Feat. Eve as the perfect soundtrack, stylist Kristina Koval shows how well she plays with denim demonstrated by her various looks.  Directed by Max Smolin + starring Russian Hip Hop artist Anna Exceela, you see looks that appeal to a streetwear vibe like an oversized hoody in light denim with a dark denim front pocket paired with wide light denim shorts.  For a dressier look but still with that casual ease, Koval pairs an opened maxi sleeveless white shirt over a sweetheart strapless dark denim romper, tied together with a brown belt.  You also see that timeless classic of jeans turned upside down + worn as a short skirt.

Enjoy!

WANTED: Reptilian Scales Handpiece By Adriatic

image

When I first saw this ‘Reptilian Scales Handpiece’ by Adriatic, I imagined my hand, with these scales running over my wrist, as they peeked out through a cute fur jacket with an obnoxious collar.  This unique handmade brass handpiece is undeniably unique + simply, incredible – Talk about a statement piece!

image

The ‘Reptilian Scales Handpiece’ consists of three parts – a ring, hand piece + bracelet – all attached with tiny springs for comfort + movability.  For contrast + depth, the metal is oxidized.  Now each piece must be custom made to your dimensions + if you desire another material or plating, you can contact the designer.

Top purchase your very own Adriatic Reptilian Scales Handpiece, click here.  Now, the question is, should you buy one or two?

Don’t you want to cop every single piece in above fashion film ‘Heavy Metals’ for Volt Magazine-I do?!  Styled by Jo Shippen, from the stacked rings, the metal mask, the black sequined cowl up to the barbed wire chokers, it’s all or nothing!

The Must Have Bling For Fall

image

For Fall, be sure to try out one of these looks from Dream Nation‘s ‘Bling’ AW/14 collection + really stand out.  Full of color, the best part of this collection is the variety of patterns playing off a diamond theme.  A for instance is the Bling Broken Mirror pattern in pic 3 below, giving the clothes the illusion of sparkle.

image

There is the line drawing of a diamond in white over the Bling Blur pattern as seen in pic 3 below.  Then you have a head-to-toe pattern of an aqua cartoon diamond  inside a red shine bubble on a blue track suit (pic 1, below).

image

But the pattern that really jumped out at me is the middle one below.  Called the Bling Chesterfield pattern, it makes this track suit look like tufted fabric.

Unfortunately, women have the advantage here, with more to choose from including leggings, harem pants, hoodies + dresses.  Yet, the few pieces for men could still become an essential part of their wardrobe, for a bit of fun.

Dream Nation’s ‘Bling’ AW/14 collection is now available for purchase.

Do You Dare DIY: Detailing Your Care With A Marker

image

Tell me this car doesn’t look sick?  And to think, it only took a wife’s love + dedication, a felt-tip marker, 140 hours + lots of creativity, to detail her husband’s Nissan Skyline GTR this ill.  Not only is the design graphic, it reminds me a lot of the amazing artwork found on Native American totem poles.

image

image

Focusing on the square parts of the car, the couple applied a lacquer over the designs in order to preserve the marker.  Talk about a love letter!
