I heart the voice possessed by FKA twigs. It beckons one to stay awhile + listen, hoping to be savored + consumed, yet still leaving you with hunger for more. Such is the case in her music video above for ‘Papi Pacify’. Produced by Arca, it’s one of the four tracks on ‘EP2‘ out now.
But seriously though, isn’t this video sexy + hot?!

Aren’t these sick?! AnOther magazine dug around their archives + found these beautiful pics known as ‘Centrefold SS/02 Concept’. With concept + art direction by John Galliano + photography by the brilliant Steven Klein, the result was nothing but gorgeous. Galliano told AnOther, ‘It was all about mixing the rough with the smooth, the hard with the refined’, which he did by bringing out the masculine in the female subject + the feminine in the male.
Galliano wanted people to question their fantasies + these images definitely do just that.

With inspiration coming from bombshells of the Fifties, Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared2 created a spring collection worthy of all the great ones, including Marilyn Monroe. Love Linsey Wixson in look 2, row 1.

OMG – so loving Solange Knowles‘ new music video for ‘Lovers In The Parking Lot’ – So chill, so sweet, so smooth! Directed by Solange herself along with Peter J. Brant + Emily Kai Bock (of Grimes ‘Oblivion‘ + Grizzly Bears ‘Yet Again‘ fame), the video features Solange dancing in an empty Kings Flea Market in Houston. Solange’s moves might be a little ‘off’ but they so work with the whole vibe of the song + location. Love her sparkly looks + big beautiful hair (if only I could be so lucky to have hair like that, but not all the hairspray in the world could make my hair behave like that – trust me, I’ve tried + within a few hours, my curls look like they were shot dead).
Enjoy!

As if Raf Simons could get any cooler, now I find out he too loves EDM like me + countless others. Since Dior is in charge of providing entertainment for this year’s 2-day Guggenheim Gala in November, Raf Simons thought no one would be better than DJ Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman (one of Hawtin’s most popular aliases), + if you know EDM, could you blame him?
A huge influence on Detroit’s techno scene in the Nineties + known for his minimal techno style, Plastikman is sure to turn the gala out. Raf told WWD, ‘“I listen to Richie Hawtin’s music like others listen to classic music. As Plastikman it is also an amazing live experience so I am extremely grateful that he accepted to bring it back for that evening.” But the evening will be a family affair, as Plastikman’s brother, ambient DJ Matthew Hawtin, will perform at the pre-party Nov. 6th. The gala dinner will honor artist James Turrell followed by honoring artist Christopher Wool on Nov. 7th.
Now, since Plastikman is best known for his abstract + minimal works + in lieu of my last post on Sophia Webster’s bugged out spring collection, take a listen to Plastikman’s ‘Kriket’ + enjoy!

For her spring collection, it was obvious why Sophia Webster called it ‘a bug’s slumber party’, full of lots of color, fun + whimsy. Bugs were everywhere, figuratively + literally. Models took on a bug’s persona with hair brilliantly coiffed to look like super high antennae. There were butterflies fluttering up legs, on top + back of shoes + on bags too. Some shoes were in full bloom, adorned with florals worthy of any award-winning garden.
I especially loved the high-heeled jelly sandals, that looked as if they were made of soft + flattened Jolly Ranchers + cartoonish clutches, shaped like word bubbles, with the sayings ‘Bite Me’ + ‘You Buggin’ inside them.
