Happy Friday – Here’s Something Horny For You, Literally!

Leave it up to the genius of fashion + art photographer Mustafa Sabbagh to take such a simple concept and transform it into something so beautiful – Here he captures his subject riccardo, in all his splendor by first capturing his beautiful back with his head tilted forward as if in deep thought followed by the next picture in which riccardo’s posture suggests action as if he’s about to charge accentuating his lean musculature with a cobalt blue backdrop not so heavily lit.

In this set, we see riccardo from a side profile but this time, his face is more visible and displays deep thought (love the slightly closed eyes).  The second picture just shows all that is riccardo, beautifully ripped, tanned, inked and horned – meow!

Miansai Wants To Rope You In Again, But This Time, It’s Around Your Head

With Panama Hats.

Known for their jewelry, especially their rope bracelets, Miansai is now venturing into hats, specifically, Panama Hats. Handmade in Ecuador, what sets these Panama Hats apart from all the rest are the ropes substituting the typical ribbon accent.  And for that extra touch,

they’ve added gold or silver closures to the ropes as seen above.  So if you happen to have a few bbqs or pool parties lined up for the rest of your summer, be sure to stand out in one of these babies, now available online.

How Polka-Dots Took Over Louis Vuitton Yesterday Was Just As I Imagined

(photo: Joe Schildhorn)

Simply Perfection!

As a lover of repetition and patterns alike, when news of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama coming to town via a Whitney retrospective of her art and a collaboration with Louis Vuitton dropped, I just couldn’t hold back the enthusiasm sparking my hair into more of a frizzy mess – thanks humidity! Yesterday, Louis Vuitton unveiled it’s store facade covered from top to bottom in endless black dots on glass – super chic!  Inside however, things were a bit more subdued featuring pockets of the ‘Kusamacised’ LV accessories, with hints of Kusama’s other signature motif of tentacles.

And as if that’s not drama enough, Yayoi arrived with her signature shocking red bob,

wearing a yellow + black ensemble (textile is fashioned after one of her artworks in which she’s blurred by the pattern worn by her and the pattern of her artwork in the background, all in the same colorway) with black socks in a wheelchair, all bearing polka-dots.  Thankfully, the window installations just bear the artist’s work and nothing else which makes you want to come into the store even more, just to see what IS for sale.

Cambridge Satchel One-ups Itself, But This Time, Without The Help Of Neon

The Cambridge Satchel Company, having already taken the world by storm by creating satchels worthy of any student at Hogwarts in neon (not to mention a lot of copycats), has done it again.  This time however, they’ve enlisted the help of menswear designer Christopher Shannon to create these fantastic backpacks for a S/S12 capsule collection.

Not a stranger to designing luggage and formerly with Eastpak, Shannon’s approach was simple – while still keeping the design integrity of The Cambridge Satchel intact, he vertically elongated it’s shape while adding new elements including fringe to matte and patent leather.  Plus, when your source of inspiration is 80’s pop singer/deejay John  ’Jellybean’ Benitez, the outcome is sure to be interesting.

Due to drop in stores soon, as you can see for yourselves, The Cambridge Satchel Company has yet another hit on their hands so be on the lookout.
