‘Braid’, a track from Gem Club’s second album, last year’s ‘In Roses’, perfectly compliments this weird yet fascinating video by the Massachusetts trio. With a piano intro, followed by their voices singing as one, then laced with strings, you don’t know where this video is going but can’t help but wonder what’s gonna happen next.
With a man having a mask sewn onto his face, a rigor mortised cat that doubles as a piano case + couples engaging in blood drenched kisses, the video ends perfectly with a kiss full of such intensity, no matter how passionate or how deep, it feels as if the couple just can’t get quite enough of each other.
This track definitely pushes all the right buttons, pulling on your heart strings, with the swell of the music.

For Italian brand Robe Trouvè, it IS all about the jackets, but, with a twist or rather, a fold. Based on the concept of giving a new voice to second-hand garments, its central idea that connects all the inspirations is the memory with the aim of letting you find your own identity in garments that didn’t belong to Robe Trouvè.
Inspired by Japanese origami, the first collection is the result of an experiment in deconstruction + re-appropriation. According to the brand, ‘Origami is not more the transformation of something material to something completely new + different, with another soul’.
Second-hand blazers + men’s suits, in good quality wool, cotton or linen, are taken apart, then combined with either another jacket + or the pants, in the most interesting ways. At times, you have a jacket with dramatic draping (above), above or all around. Then there’s a jacket like the one below, incorporating the pants along the front, while it makes its way around to the back. Of course, there’s also the sexy detail of black organza lining the inside of each jacket.
And you’ll be guaranteed not to find someone else with your jacket at a party, as each piece is unique. You can choose the model, the structure, but your jackets will be a different color + material, from all others, because they’re made by the rebirth of recycling. Full of signature graphic elements, this Spring 2016 swim collection is sure to be a hit with longtime admirers of the brand, if not, gain new ones.
Power women ‘taking over the world,’ was the inspiration for this collection.
The new shape above, an underwire bikini top with contrast piping + crisscrossing straps, really knows how to highlight ones assets, while still being pretty covered for a bikini.

Ever wonder what it would be like to dress in 1940’s surgeon scrubs? Well, in Kristina Lapickaja’s fashion film above, featuring her ‘The Skin I Live In’ AW/15 collection, you get to see a hint of what that would look like, but in leather + bandage fabric. With the shape of the sleeves + closure detailing of the outerwear, similar to those found with surgical scrubs, one can see how this collection’s inspiration came from plastic surgery + its aesthetics.
You get to see leather strip detail, sewn together, to create a jacket, while bandage fabric hangs like an uneven fringe on a skirt. The closure detailing includes tie strips of patent leather, along the side of patent leather pants + the back of sleeves. Zippers also play a major role throughout the collection, not only for their intended purpose, but rather, representing that metal element in a surgical procedure.
